Smoothies That Bring All The Boys To The Yard

It has long been my belief that to obtain optimal creative health, we first have to go through the often challenging process of achieving good physical health. It's no secret that a healthy body has a big positive impact on brain function, including cognition and creativity. The only problem is, most of us are too busy to do a ton of food research, work out all the time, or completely overhaul our meal plans overnight.

The biggest helper for me when I was trying to push through the initial pain of making much needed dietary changes, was establishing smoothies as a non-negotiable part of my day. They are so easy & quick to make, they taste amazing, and even on the days when I knew I wasn't eating great, I was still able to get some essential nutrients into my body.

Over time, the smoothie habit added up, and I started to feel a LOT better. I gained motivation to incorporate bigger diet and lifestyle changes, which had a huge impact on my productivity, my creative life, and my overall happiness. I realized that treating my body with kindness was allowing every area of my life to start flourishing. That's why I lettered this reminder onto the back cover of my book:

I always think it's better to start as small as possible when trying to make changes in your life, because it is so much easier to maintain those changes and turn them into habits than if you try to start a ton of things at once. If you try to turn yourself into a new person overnight, you're probably going to end up overwhelmed and going back to the comfort of the lifestyle that you already know for the sake of maintaining your short term sanity.

My personal obsession with smoothies, and my desire to help you all begin the journey of optimizing your creativity and life by taking baby steps toward a healthier diet is what inspired me to create the book Smoothies That Bring All The Boys To The Yard.
